You could check the chassis number stamped on it.
Which might also inform as to if it was stolen.

Will check out chassis number it was purchased from scrappy( oops recycler).
Does the seller have a log book/V5 for it?

There are plenty of others around that list the variations so you can identify the year and model it once was.
How you can check if it’s stolen I am not sure. But somebody else may know. There may be a site on the net where you can put in a number and it pops up good/bad I don’t know.
Getting all the paperwork to be legal at the end could be a challenge but doable, but do some home work first.
You may want to sell further down the road and it would look dodgy
without paperwork.
