Hiya, I'm new to the forum and I know this has been covered before but it was some time ago.

But how difficult is it to convert a pick up defender 90 to a hardtop?
What parts will I need? Is there any companies that sell a conversion kit?
And roughly how much would it cost to do it?
Sorry about all the questions. But I am buying one at the weekend and it's a pick up and I would like to make it into a hardtop.
Thanks in advance

Buy van sides, roof and rear door off ebay remove truck cab rooof and rear panel. drop sides and roof on fit rear door and the jobs done 2hrs at the most once you have required parts

Ebay is ya best bet..

I know a company near me called RCV will do it professionally but I can't remember how much the guy said it was. I think it was about £1000-2000.

Jesus that's a bit steep.

A pair of side will cost approx £50 second hand
A ribbed roof would cost approx the same
A flat roof closer to £100-£150
A rear door in good nick £75-£100 second hand

A good body shop would have it all painted like new for £200-£300

And then as said it is 2 to 3 hours max to fit it all.

I cut the roof in half as I was getting peed off with getting wet, to hold the half roof in place I cut the ends off the sides... They aren't really any good to anyone... The rear door is fine.. I'll take a pic and send it over if your interested in that?
