Right then you lot, I've spent the whole of my lunch hour hunting for some recent views on prices, so, I recon that should avoid me getting an e-spanking for asking the same question yet again  (If not, please refer to my adultfriendfinder page and leave some photos:p)

Anyhow, whilst the question may be a bit like how long is a bit of string!, I'm looking for a tidy fairly standard 90, 300TDi, say 100K +- on the clock. What sort of price range would you expect? (I'm nor referring to advertised prices and I am checking out fleebay etc) (I may go via trade, for some sort of comeback as whilst not mechanically inept, I'm a long way from an expert.

Cheers Dudes.

p.s. Any totty in this group? (see previous note on e-spanking):D:D

p.p.s Oops, lunch over

Check out my pics on profile.... mine was a tired one (1994 300tdi) with 146k on clock and 12 months MOT. I paid £3900 in April last year. To buy same today... hardly any change (-£300) as prices seem to have held up okay.
However.... To get it up to rather nice I have added, 5 new wheels and tyres, new body cappings, new windscreen and rubber, all new seals to body, A bar, 2 spots, sump and axle gaurds, chequer plate to dented wing tops and sills, new heavy duty rear x member, 2 front out riggers (I replaced rather than have welded) New exmoor trim for seats, 2 new door mirrors, Mantec snorkel, halogen head lights, a couple of decent ropes and shackles and hand painted it, waxoyled chassis... so thats another £1500+.
Selling it today with 12 months MOT.... I would hope to get towards 5k for it maybe more?
Had I known the rear xmember and out riggers would need replacement I would not have paid more than £3500 but the engine is spot on so thats a huge bonus. Great fun getting it almost right.
Next project is a 300tdi 110, just need to find one.

I paid £6500 for a 93 200TDI CSW with 148k. But it has been rebuilt with galvanised chassis, galvanised TD5 Bulkhead. Read disk conversion, Pro Alloy intercooler, New doors, New interior, the list goes on.
I chose to pay more as I wanted one that i would not have to worry about.
Not a patch of rust on it!

Cheers folk, I'm trying to put 5k away to play with.

I can see the merrit in getting a slightly cheaper, perhaps more 'honest' vehicle and spending the change fixing the problems yourself, properly, rather than getting one a bit better, that may have hidden probelms and then still having to spend to fix it.

Traders seem to be high priced (predictably), with 200's going for over 5K.

The great landy hunt continues :D

If you get a solid 2.5TD, you can always upgrade to a 200TDI later - if you do it yourself, and buy an MOT failure Disco doner vehicle, there's no reason why it should leave you out of pocket (once you've sold on the remainder of the Disco, your old engine, etc, etc)
