defender 300tdi wont cold start

hi

just wondering what you guys think i have got a 1996 defender 300tdi what will not cold start:( (wont start in morning but will start fine for rest of the day:confused:) just fitted new glow plugs but not solved problem (tested glow plugs so i know they work) there is no smoke when i am cranking the engine so i have been told to fit new fuel injectors does this sound like possible problem :confused:

It's more likely that it's air in the fuel due to split or perished fuel spill pipes between the injectors. Don't forget to check the blanking cap on the end one too.
 
try connecting a jump lead between the battery negative and the engine block before you try starting it, you could have a poor earth somewhere
 
When its cold mine cranks over, getting slower and slower and then either starts or flattens the battery. However, with a jump lead from the battery to the engine, or by giving it four "shots" of glow plugs, it starts immediatley. I found this after going through the whole of the fuel system and replacing anything that might have been letting air in.
Using the jump lead is a quick, easy, thing to try at the worst it will eliminate a possibility
