hello landy peeps. a friend had a problem with her disco 2 that had her locked in her car for about a half hour. the roadside asistance number says this is what is called lockout. they say "you should be glad you have that feature, cause without it your car could be stolen." WHAT THE HECK are they talking about. i should be lucky to get locked in my own car because of accidentally hitting the panic on the fob? the only way she got out was because a dealer somewhere gave her a trick of holding the window button while turning key to start and the window went down enough to get the key out the window to her daughter to unlock from outside.
what if: it would have been really hot
: it would have been a young child
: the vehicle would have had emergency(fire, flood)
the land rover people say that the owners manual says dont do this while in car. who really reads owners manuals?? i have been a auto tech for 20 plus years and have never heard something so assinine in my life.
again, i should be lucky to get lock in my own car????????
does any one have any response to this or a way to make sure she can get out if it were to happen again??
