Hi.
Anyone know the easiest place to get fairly close to the turbos so that I can spray in a turbo cleaner. The closest I seem to be able to get is the hoses on the downstream side of the MAF (which seems a long way away from the turbo itself!)
I assume it's much easier with a ramp, but I'm trying to do it from above (limited resources and skill!)

2010 3.0 TDv6

Cheers

Hi

what issues are u getting and what are the fault codes plse that’s leading u towards either turbos , thks

Cheers for the help.
P2263 - 22
Red light restricted performance etc.
Garage did smoke test, couldn't find any leaks...

Hi

many thks for the codes , ref P2262-22(27) Turbo/supercharge boost system performance - General signal failure - signal amplitude>maximum

ref the codes I have seen some complain of broken vacuum hoses that can affect the TSOV ( turbo shut off valve ) , where they remove the vacuum pipe and put a vacuum pump on the turbo to move the actuator arm

can become stuck due to short journeys or not used a lot , it’s to do with the secondary turbo

there’s also some details here regarding the issue

must confess does help having ur own diagnostics as can then monitor the live data , along with saving a lot of money in not having to rely on garages

have them myself and are a godsend , in the end I bought an Autel AP200 which is very basic , want the white one and then the all singing dancing one called the Gap iid, think there around £450 , the Autel approx £60

here’s the link for the Autel , is basic but at least give u live data , able to clear codes , is very handy to have one to keep in ur glove box

Amazon product

hope it helps

Also just thought , where abouts are u plse as someone might be near u with a gap iid which can go deeper into the diagnostics, if not at least the Autel will give u a starting point to go from

plse let us know how u get on

Hi. Thanks for your advice. I already a Autel obd reader.... Can you let me how I use it to try and narrow the fault down from the live data.?
