Hello all, both the bottle jacks for my D1 & D2 have become stuck and I can't get them back to their original position, any idea why they've become and stuck and more importantly...how do I fix them?

Cheers
Al

They used to fit in the compartments all nice and snug but neither of them will buge no matter how hard I pres (or bang them...), they must come apart somehow?

usually a steel retaining ring around the top of the jack itself on the inside of the jack body between the outer body and ram, it doesn't have a relief on the ring so is a git to get out unless you find the gap between the two ends of the ring and drill a 2mm hole into the recess, tap the ring round and then use a probe to push the ring in till ya can get a screwdriver at the back of the ring.
the rams will pump out then and spill oil everywhere.you then need to split the outer ram from the inner, ya usually have to get the ram cap off then push the inner ran down through the outer.
chances are the seals have perished and swollen, if you can strip it and find seals for it and the rams/liner have no scores or deformation then you can build it back up but you will need to change the plunger seal and the valve balls and springs. then you need to test it, swl +10%....
for the seals you will need a manufacturers name and model number. don't have a jack to look at so don't know if its stamped into the tank.. the service kits usually cost more than the jack though
easier to say sod it and get one off e bay:D
