cutting chequer plate.

what do you find is best for cutting this? i tried a jigsaw with a metal cutting blade but it clogged up within about 8 inches. used a grinder with a cutting blade and even that seemed to be struggling

'Cos it's soft you'll need a blade with a different tooth pattern than the average metal cutting blade but I doubt if they're available you may do it with a blade with less TPI but you don't want to go too course. For grinding ally you need a special disc, if you use an ordinary disc you risk blowing the universe up.

Best thing to do is forget the chequerplate and go for wider wheels a body kit a flash paint job and drive about with your front fog lights on.

if you must cut chequer plate( why oh why don't these folk buy a welder and do a proper job?) get yerself a 14yr old and hand him a hacksaw and tell him what you want cutting. then sit back with a beer and wait till he's finished.

I used a metal cutting blade that fits in a stanley knife handle. goes through it quite nicely, then tidy it up with a file.
