On my Landrover Defender Td5 County Station Wagon 110 (year 2005) I have just fitted new Michelin LTX A/T 2 tyres (LT 235/85R16 120R). (The treads are different from the earlier LTX A/T.)

What pressures (front and back) and FULLY LOADED and NOT LOADED should these be run at? The LR handbook says “rear @ 48 psi” but this seems wrong.

sorry to hijack but ive got a 1988 110 csw v8, with 285/75 R16 bfg mud terrains on steel modulars.

what sort of pressures front and rear should i be at? currently got it at 32 psi all round....

If you contact the manufacturers with the axle weights then they'll give you a definitive answer. The current pressures are too high at the front and too low at the back, especially if loaded up.

The standard figures are 28 psi at the front and 48 psi at the back. The axle weights are 1200 kg front and 1850 kg back, these are the maximum weights, not actual, but the only figures quoted in the handbook.

The bigger than std. tyres fitted spread the weight through a bigger footprint and so should run at a slightly lower pressure in theory to maintain good contact with the road.
