Hi Guys,

Got a bit of a creak on my petrol tank when goin slow, going over bumps or pulling away. The creak seems to be coming from the top, just under the back seats (i've removed the rear seats completely). I've also dropped the tank by about 2cm, put a bit of old bike tyre in between the tank and the shell and bolted it all back up hoping it would give it some padding but no luck!

The tank is fully secure, just got a slight bit of movement or vibration in it near the top somewhere.

How easy is it to get the whole tank out and see whats between the shell and top of the tank?

Or any other suggestions? Cheers guys.

Not what you want to here I'm sure but is it deffo the tank or could it be an early sign of the dreaded rear subframe mounts.

Pretty sure it's the tank. I looked into the broken subframe and doesn't appear to be that. If i get inside the vehicle and press down on the floor near the pump hole, i can hear the creak then. It started doing it since i took the rear seats out, as if the rear seats were putting pressure on the floor and keeping the creak at bay.

Tried putting GT85 down it two weeks ago but the creak turned into a squeak and now it's back to the creak now it's dried out.
