Cracked side walls.......

Hello everyone!!!!

I keep seeing 4x4's with off road tyres fitted and quite often they seem to have cracked side walls.

I was wondering.....is this safe?????

think its an mot faliure to have perished tyres and no

maybe some people have a spare set of wheels just for winter or off road.
so presumably these tyres would suffer the ravages of time before wearing out.
had this problem on motorbikes i got but don`t use much.

Off road tyres have thick sidewalls anyway so it's not too bad but I suppose it's not safe really.

no. not at all. definatly not safe.
i`ve thrown out tyres with loads of tread on them purely because they show signs of perishing.
