Morning All
I can't open the RAVE files on my Mac so trying my luck here.
My '98 1.8l came to me with some botch wiring adaption on the coolant sensor. Could someone tell me either:
1: ECU connector pin to coolant connectors (2 wires)

2: Coolant Sensor wiring diagram / colours from loom.

My ideal would be to return to original by wiring directly from sensor to ECU input to ensure that it's back to standard.

Thanks

Sorry - deleted to avoid confusion. If I can get to the desktop tonight or tomorrow, I’ll post up a proper diagram, unless someone else gets there first.

If yer know someone with window then ask them to mount it, then copy the whole directory structure to yer mac as it is. Then just use as is.

I have a feeling that won't work. I think the documents are encrypted or something and wont read using a normal PDF viewer. It has to be accessed using the PDF viewer supplied in the ISO.

Whether it can be printed using a PDF print driver to and actual standard PDF file I don't know - but there are a number of docs to print anyway.

Sorry for the late reply. I had to research the answer using a paper diagram, that I dig out.

So here's the required information.

The ECU's temperature sensor has two wire's. A Pink/Black and Pink/Green. The Pink/Black is also shared with the inlet air temperature sensor and the throttle potentiometer.

The dash gauge sensor has only 1 wire which is Green/Black. The sensor grounds this wire through a variable resistance or pulsing bi-metallic strip.
The plugs are colour coded with the sensor socket for correct identification.
Hope this helps.

Thanks a bunch @Nodge68 - my parcel of Terranova diag plus new coolant guage arrived yesterday from LRDirect (pretty good speed considering the continents and hemisphere crossing!
Alas the clutch suddenly went t1ts up (I'm pretty sure its a siezed fork/bearing) so that is going to need to get done before I get to play with the wiring! :-/

Check the bracket the slave clips into hasn't cracked, usually because the release arm is siezing up as it goes through the bell housing.
Yes I've already replaced the bracket (and the Master/Slave sealed unit). The release arm moves freely 1-2" to-from the slave...

She was driving fine, parked her and 2 hours later there was no clutch disengagement (despite there being foot pressure). I find it hard to believe that it is the plate etc but far more likely the release lever / release bearing. But now the only way to resolve this is to remove the 'box and have a look.

So as per my Clutch update, I'm getting to the original problems.

The primary cause of the mis-firing/spluttering was the fuel pump. The previous owners had REMOVED THE FUEL FILTER from the submerge-pump so, I'm going to do injectors at some point. :-/
She is running pretty well, but not perfect. Recent service hasn't helped though I did not do points/distributor or leads. Pulls pretty well (just done 3000km in Southern Namib), but does feel "rough".
Sparkplugs were pretty 'sooty' suggesting overfueling (and my fuel bill would concure)

On the subject of the previous owners...as mentioned previously, someone felt the need to be a self-made auto electrician and has butchered the wiring. In particular the Dual Fan wiring and possibly the associated temp sensor.

Does anyone have:
1: simple re-wiring diagram for fans (I'm trying to get the Aircon to work as well). What I mean by "simple" is to remove the relays - the manual is not explicit in the wiring of these and they have certainly been messed with
2: an easy to follow back to original wiring diagram in order to replace the whole Fan etc Relay loom from scratch as per spec.

To keep the request on-point :)
