for some time now ive been trying to find out why my Disco 3 2.7Tdv6has been losing collant and over pressurizing th system. I narrowed it down to either EGR coolers were leaking or head gaskets so today i went to bypass the EGR coolers to eliminate them but when i took hose off from the top of the cooler i noticed there was a spring in there and also some degraded plastic blocking about 90% or the waterway but as i had already fitted the bypass i road tested it and it seem to cure the fault so i removed the spring and other stuff and refitted the hoses back to the cooler.Although im not 100% convinced that was all my problem the faul has not shown up again but i have only done about 50ks since the refitting and it seem ok.
The spring and plastic pieces were from some kind of valve in the cooler but the cooler fitted still had all the pieces in tact so it must have been there from when the cooler was renewed at some stage before i got the car.
Although its a 2008 disco the RR sport is the same so it might be handy to remember this if anyone shows the same fault

If it leaks the level will drop and you'll see where when it's standing. If it's a blockage it should pressurise the water, if it's pressurising with air guess it's Hgasket.

Have you checked oil cap for signs of water/ water for signs of oil?

I read it as he's sort of cured it on his own, and he's letting folks know what might be the fault if they experience similar.
