Conway trailer tent

Ive been looking for a small trailer, just to move some rubbish and stuff, and today ive been offered a fookin big conway trailer tent for absolute peanuts. So im gonna get it tomorrow and then rip the insides out to make it into a trailer.

Cant say no can i. So have any of you tinkering chaps ripped one to bits and made a trailer? If so any thoughts or ideas, anything i need to know?

Now then now then now then. Before you rip the **** out of it how big is it? There's a SLIGHT chance I could relieve you of the tenty bit, with a veiw to put it on the back of my 90.

Ah right then Grunt, i shall inform you tomorrow, however it is pretty big that i do know, not some farty little trailer tent for one man, a magazine and a small packet of tissues.


Give me chance tomorrow and i will try and get it on my drive and photograpth it.

i did exactly the same thing a few yrs back. paid 25 quid for the conway.
(cant remember the model name though).
tent part was completely ****ed so made it into a normal trailer. just ripped the bits out of it. dead simple.
used it for some yrs then sold it for 50 quid.

Oy Ormus, did you strengthen the sides at all or anything. And this one has an outside small locker door so i might have to jiggle that a bit. Its only gonna be used for moving some rubbish and stuff about.
Oh, and its 6 foot wide. Quite a big thing actually.

Ive gotta decide what to do with the bits, it has a cooker built in and a folding table thingy as well, so if they are ok i might lash em on Ebay for someone. Better than binning them.

no. i never did any work on it apart from stripping it out.
i also used it mainly for rubbish etc.. although i did a removal for someone, 200 mile trip. it was just fine. the brakes were a bit hit and miss though.

no ebay in them days, so the contents went to the council skip.
would sell the stuff on ebay now though. the gas cooker alone must be worth at least 25 quid? poss 50?
go for it. you may end up with a free trailer and very saleable too, in the future.

ps. mine was about 6ft wide too. and about 10ft long? with a white hinged top that was held down by 4 rubber catches. same as the old mini racing ones.
