Compression test on TD5

good day to all of you;
It is a long time that i have not been here and it is good to be back. I just did a compression test on my Defender TD5 at the land rover dealer and of course they send me the results for 4 cylinders only.
I have the following results:
cylinder #1 : 28 bars
cylinder #2 : 27 bars
Cylinder #3 : 28 bars
Cylinder #4 : 25 bars
the comments from the workshop are oil emission on the cylinder #1

can you guys help me to draw the right conclusions from this:
If oil emission are identified it could either come from a piston ring or a valve. If the compression is high it should be a valve issue . Right or wrong?

what is the normal compression ratio on a TD5 ? I have been looking on the web but could not find any answer.

can you make comments on such results and recommend some course of action..

and you can have one too cos those pressure reading are looking great

a poor valve will lower compression ,as will poor ring/ bore ,stem seals can cause oil in cylinder but usually more noticeable on start up , oil in cylnder wouldnt be diagnosed through compression test most likely in removing glow plug ,28 bar is 411 psi and 25 bar is 367 psi ,diference is just over 10% which is usual excepted max though does depend on test been performed the same per cylinder, why did you get a test done have you an issue

I did a test because since I have the car I found her sluggish and is burning oil. (approximatly 1 liter a week) in town usage. She is also burning coolant ( 1 cm approx every 3 days are going down in the small expansion tank).
This car is getting me paranoid !!! I am taking really good care of it but all the time plenty little things going wrong on the engine or in the car in general. Light bulb rear burning down once every 3 weeks more or less, inside car light burning down. i check everything but I cannot find the problems. Not long ago the oil cooler gave up and I found oil in my coolant tank. I am getting seriously ****ed off to the point that I am driving my car with a maintenance manual inside.
I love my land rover but i am doing a lot for her but frankly she is not doing much for me lately...

Frankly feel better as I thought I was going to give a call to Tuner engineering for a new engine...

@ bushmaster: considering similar issues.

Tested my Td5 (MY2005, "only" 117.000 kms on the clock) on all five pots by myself after pulling injectors (using selfmade adapter).

Result: averaged 21 bars on hot engine and 24...25 bars cold engine (reference may be 15 degrees Celsius).

Did your dealer mentioned test at operating temperature or cold?
You can never tell...

sorry for the late answer ; the Def has 120000 km

Just tested my TD5 due to a cylinder in balance.
cylnder1: 460psi 31.72 bar
2: 440 30.34
3: 440 30.34
4: 440 30.34
5: 435 30.00

the difference in cylinder 1 is 5% so I'm still happy with that.

Guessing I've got an injector problem since they look ok,

Just a thought but could this be too much pressure??

thats petrols,doesel injected at the point
