Thank you for the welcome here. We are in Paris and near Saint Tropez. And yes, little by little the Landy Park here is getting fuller. The old Series II drives as good as ever, the Disco 1 is reliable as a donkey and the Freelancer, well, it's just a Freelancer that's good for shopping and because of the rear window the preferred Land Rover of my two Rotties, - if once again the sensors and other fuel "controls" are in order.
Just by the way, the Disco 1 was probably the most reliable thing ever built by Land Rover. And because I'm actually from Germany, but live in France, those Land Rover built between 1990 and 2010 are 1000 times more reliable than all German cars combined. At most my 46 year old Citroen DS 23 can keep up.

Thank you! Most Rotties are nice, is my fourth generation. The good thing with them is that I can carry a camera in all kind of strange places, never any fool tried to grab or cut a camera from my shoulder :)
Do you often go into such strange places?:eek::eek:
(Maybe it's your job!);)

but this "asylum" is for me a real treasureplace. Found even for this Freelander TD4 (it's the newest Landy we have) a better solution for this notorious "amigo" a yellow light, going on for no reason. And yes,I am really very serious with my comparison with German and English vehicles. Mercedes and VW have really dropped massively in quality since 1990. But you always notice only when it is too late that you have the better solution "on the island". Even MODEC in Coventry was sacrificed to speculators and they had a huge potential....

I was joking!;)
You are right, it is full of decent people who will help you out as far as they can.
Never take me seriously, well, not on this sort of thread or on Anything Goes!:D:D:D

It was... Did fact-finding for "mobile security" needs with CIMIC and all those do-gooders working in "gulags". That's why it was so easy for these 4-legged buddies to clear my head again.

And this is my intention as well but will do it with an extra posting: if someone needs support here while driving in the south of France, or a place to stay with his converted LR and roof-top...

Our son is driving down from Paris today to our place in the Tarn. But not in a Landy, altho his camper van does need the interior lights fixing!
You could join Land Zone International Rescue!;)

Manchester really gains image, like Liverpool. It reminds me of a region in Germany, called North-Rhine Westphalia, which was till the 80's a tough region of hard working people but converted itself in many aspects to a multi-media and cultural top-place.
I spent many a happy day in Nordrhein-westfalen. I lived in Soest, Werl, and Dortmund, for around 4yrs all in. I did however miss the sea. So would head to the dams for my water fix. There was also an amazing place in Essen, amongst all the industrial areas that did amazing cake and coffee :D
