Hello there...I am wanting to buy a detachable tow bar for a Disco 3 but am looking on eBay as I am rocking a budget! I know this probably sounds embarrassingly naive but would one for a Disco 3/4 fit any model of Disco 3? I drive a completely different car and don't have a need to tow anything so any advice much much appreciated. Thank you!

e-mail the seller, use the "contact seller" option, its not the most obvious thing but it is handy. This has the added benfit that these messages are archived by e-bay, if the seller says it fits and you get it and it doesn't you just hit "return item", upload a pic of it not fitting and ref the e-mail, you'll get a full refund.

A lot of parts suppliers ask for the reg number to verify the part will fit, have a look for such a vender.

I sold my good condition D3 detachable tow hook over £200, that was in 2016.

It is normally tucked in the passengers side rear lower cubby box.
He definitely doesn't have one - he is a hardcore fan of LR and he has commented a few times about wanting one so I thought I'd beat him to it - not my idea of a to gift but it takes all sorts. (((((((-:

Nah, I don't have a beard but I stopped using aftershave when I stopped chasing birds, it never did any good anyway, I think they sensed I was a potential landy owner.
