1) Ewok not very fast, let out a slitty before turning off
2) Slitty - Shogun, looked plasticy and was not quick, I thought they had big engines, no idea why anyone would have bought it as superior cars were available like the one being held up

On way home

3) Freelander 3 pulled out, 35 in a 60 too much coming the other way. Eventually managed to demonstrate the superiority of the TD5.

Surely everyone knows 4x4s come from Solihull

Yes I was late to work and late home.

Funnily enough they don't, every manufacturer has followers for it's products ... it's called personal choice
For my part, despite having owned nine of LR's finest I wouldn't look twice at anything they built after the 'eighties.

Mid 90s surely? ;)

D1 was last easily fixed LR built from D2 on they've become too complicated.

No eighties because in the case of the 'Classics' 1989 saw the intro. of the 3.9 with it's attending liner problems, poorer quality steel for the shell thereby promoting greater risk of corrosion (as in the newly introduced Disco) transfer boxes with VCU's that seize & greater reliance on ECU's in general :(

I'm very fond of my 97 Trattor 90. One of the last of the 'simples'. :)

There had been construction and design problems within Land Rover products since the early 70s TBH

Had there been a greater research and design team in BLAR back then it could have been much much better.

Rover's biggest problem was lack of money for investment, due to the parent company BL propping up it's less successful brands. It wasn't until 1978 that LR became a stand-alone manufacturer.
