I drove through a biggish puddle on the road at about 15mph for a laugh. Big splash, nowt stupid...
...but then it made a fast loud clattering sound from under front somewhere.
I first thought water into air inlet and bust con-rod, killed engine and rolled to a stop. It turned over and started up ok so I drove off and the clattering started again.
It turned out that the diff lock wire to the gearbox had not been properly secured and had caught on the prop.. Also it removed a section of fuel pipe from the injection pump to front prop - lost to the road.
Luckily it turned out to be the return line so I put a bottle under the pipe on the pump and kept pouring it back into the tank as it filled.
The splash also knocked the rear lights out and it turned out to be the loom plugs under the bonnet.
Once again it cost me sod all to sort...!!
