My L322 has requested a code linked to centre screen , either in the past someone has entered it and not recorded any where or you make one up. If its wrong it stalls you for 10 mns , you can deactivate but it will not unless you input the original one I presume . Anyone had this or a way round it.

What happened before it asked? It doesn't usually 'just' happen. First port of call would be battery, then fuses.

Battery was low , then charged , all fuses to immobiliser checked, code comes up on instrument panel and the info central screen , this is an additional code to stop starting the engine , someone else must have inputted it , I [GALLERY=][/GALLERY]have had the vehicle 3yrs and have never seen it appear before.

@alfapat Is it requesting a 4 digit code?

Mine once asked for this when I put it to a garage for a gbox service, they left the ignition on which drained the battery, it wouldn't even accept a jump start with this request showing.
Anyway they keyed in 1-1-1-1 and it fired right up and never gave a problem again.

How old is the battery?

And why did it need charging?
What he said.
Reason I asked, is due to a low battery/alternator issue my unit also asked for code. Battery/ alternator fixed, code disappeared. My issues with it is on here somewhere. It included a couple of other "you can't touch this" messages from the unit. Those also disappeared when battery fully charged and alternator changed.

.Always needs charging new Battery before winter , but Landy not used all the time , even with solar charging 2 weeks and it down especially on cloudy days. I don't think that's the problem but doesn't help, I know, Large 110amp I will try 1111.
Have been to Dealer and they dont keep codes for that model anymore , so are emailing Sturrock presumably Land Rover.

may have it crossed but seem to remember the code is a secondary means of preventing starting, you enter a code and the next time you try to start you need to re enter the code, some thing about leaving keys with valet er but they not being able to start the engine, once entered the second time , code isn't needed until you enter a new one

YOUR Right it extra security, not needed now but a bloody nuisance.Tried 1111and every other number repeat to 9999.!!!

I'm confused by this post. Have you checked the battery?

Yes of course, as I say it was new(Battery) last year, but Landrover fine if used more regularly.

The fact it was new last year, is negated by it ' always needs charging'.
If your battery is holding a full charge, then I'm sure someone with more in depth knowledge can help.

I think it may have been you who mentioned tthis when my head unit asked for a code. The request for a code, on head unit , had no bearing whatsoever on my L322 starting. I lived with the code request until I got the battery changed. It started every time.
Good battery, no code request.

as i understand if you don't put a code in the first place it doesn't need it to start, its only if you type in a code it needs the same code the next time you want to start

Ah ok. That makes it clearer.
Although low battery also causes it to ask for a code, but doesn't stop the ignition :)

I put in what is regarded as an default code 1515 to the central screen and not worked for me . Land Rover not helpful with default code either. Tried reset with battery - off and wait a minute , put lead back on and Alarm goes , cancel this and run instructions for 10mns countdown with the key on 11 position. Nothing!

Stupid question time: have you tried with the fuse out?

Yes the fuse has been out there are three immobilser fuses, but maybe the satnav center screen hasn't.been checked. Now it has and nothing has been changed
