Hi Has anyone got a code reader suitable for a freelander td4 near bakewell that would be willing to scan it for me, I tagged skinny mike in my other post but he's as hes not been opn here so presume he's still on his holidays

It keeps misfiring and putting the eml light on for about 10 seconds, then the light goes out till the next time, does it most journeys now and its getting on my tits and the mot is due within the next 3 weeks so i'd like to get it sorted asap

Willing to cross anyones palm with beer tokens for the privilege

Thanks
Phil

Hope so its getting on my tits currently

Ive even threatened to sell it and buy an audi! seems to have improved its ideas slightly since then but still being a pain
Can you struggle with it over to Portugal Phil ? ;)
I would be happy to bung the Lynx on it while you had a cold one..........

Ha I wish! it completely broke down on me this morning, changed the fuel filter and it re started eventually, just given it a 5 mile run and it's hunting and putting the light on again at idle so I've not fixed it as I thought when it re started earlier

Nothing like that been replaced yet wanted to do cheaper stuff first

I did get it going in the end, thing is it started at first but as i went to move it cut out and wouldnt re start so i flattened the battery at first so put it on charge, then while it was dead it took chance to change fuel filter with a bearmach one ( turned out old one( not overly old as still shiney) was a brit part one ) cut end of old filter and nothing untoward inside it so can rule out crap fuel from local garage ( unless there's water in their diesel tank?) .

did that and was flicking through the haynes manual and it said about checking the fuel cut off switch so pressed that and after letting tank pump bleed things up again and about 5 mins of wangin it over it started! so not sure if it was a crappy filter that was restricting the flow, the fuel cutoff switch or still something else that i still haven't solved, as last night on the run it ran fine on road but came to stop at the inlaws, it sat idling and a few times it misfired badly before i switched it off ( roast dinner waiting and that took precedence:D) . not a murmur last night on way home afterwards and this morning its run ok ish without a misfire, felt like it backed the power off once or twice slightly but never put the light on and started straight up when i've just been out to lunch

Oh and Ill give it worse than basil if it passes its mot tomorrow as it will be getting the ebay treatment if it dont buck its ideas up!
