hi all.
been having some great fun in my disco 1 since i got it last year. That was until last week when it developed a clutch problem. i depressed the pedal to cahnge gear and the pedal went straight to the floor without any pressure. now i cant get my gears using clutch pedal yet i can drive the vehicle if a start off in gear. there doesnt seem to be any leeks anywhere. can anyone help on this problem as i dont know where to start and dont fancy a big garage bill
thanks

could be yer master cylinder seals..get some one to pump yer pedal while you look in the resovoir..if you see bubbles coming up its time to get a new one

Don't want to say the obvious but have you checked your fluid levels?

Clutch fluid has in my experience had the tendency to just dissappear.

many thanks to all of you. had to eventually take it to garage. the internal arm had actually snapped so it was gearbox out job. had a new clutch fitted while it was out.
only prob i've got since is severe lack of power and it gets hot when climbing. its got to go back tomorrow. hope its not head gasket.
thanks guys!

I have been forced to put a new clutch in my TD5. It was also a gearbox out job and i was quoted €1000 for part and labour. I was told it will be another €500 if the flywheel needs replacing. €1000 is about £640. Does that sound right to you? what were you quoted?

New clutch and arm cost me just under £350 for my Disco 1 last week. I thought that was an excellent price. From 4 x 4 services stockton-on-tees. Just to update you guys on my lack of power and raising temperature. It turned out there was a small hole in the rad which will cost £150 ish to replace but I had also blown a hose off the intercooler. oil gets into the hose and under the jubille clip and the pressure eventually blows it off-so i'm told. Keep 'em rollin'
