I have to change my Clutch and flywheel along with CV joint and both axel ball joints this weekend as I don't think they'll last much longer.

The axel ball joints are not a problem as I've done one on the other side, they just take ages to do. My worry is the clutch, is there anything I should look out for when doing this. I've changed 300tdi's and I know about the clutch fork on them but what about a TD5? do I need a new fork for it as well or can I relay on the old one continuing to work?

Any other hints or tips would be helpful.

for the clutch:
1. open the bleed nipple on the slave cylinder when you remove it from the box then when it's off tighten it back, this way you'll avoid to replace the cylinder too if it's old as the pressure in the system makes the piston to overtravel when it's released from the pushrod and ruins the seal then it will be unbleedable

2. replace the spigot bush too and use plenty of high temp grease on it otherwise it will make noise soon

3. make sure you dont miss the "flywheel side" of the plate and put it the other way around(happens quite often)

cheers for the info, would never have thought about the slave cylinder.

Do you have a part number for the spigot bush, I've looked on mircocat and can't find it.

Remember to disconnect the Crank Scensor cable. From memory it does not mention it in Rave or Haynes manuals. Its on the offside of the bell housing near the starter.

Got a noisy spigot bearing, but only when backing off the drive from cold in a morning. Clutch still fine so I'm waiting. Anyone recommend a decent clutch/flywheel kit. Heard of the solid fly wheels, but I hear the Britpart ones are crap...! Any thoughts.
