Hi all, bit stumped by this

I 'think' this may be an amp in the boot? I've seen pics of the Clarion amp, this is a lot smaller. My rear speakers work, but no bass sound from the vent on top of the big black box, so maybe it isn't plugged in behind my recently-fitted head unit  Or am I dense, this is something completely different, and I don't have an amp or a subwoofer??

If there IS a subwoofer (and I can't see in the big black box) I 'd like to get it working...if this is something else, I have seen a couple for sale and may have a pop at wiring it all in

appreciate any thoughts
J

it is the suby. If you have fitted a new head unit, it requires a separate output. Or you can do what I did and tap it into the rear right hand speaker wires.

Right, I'm sorted - I stopped by a bass junkies type place today and the bloke found a spare lead lurking in the dash, stripped & rewired it into the back of my head unit and bingo! Great sound.

Thanks for the replies, appreciate it. Now to deal with the rot I spotted under the boot carpet...

been there , after I made and fitted a new steel one I would suggest its easier to get an alloy one from an older classic and fit it :)
