Model year/code of classic? Silly question I know but have you (a) tried disconnecting the switch altogether & (b) was the replacement new or used, as they are notorious for having a mind of their own. Also the reason I ask for the vehicle details is that from the 3.9ltr. an extra ECU was fitted (in the centre console) to prevent silly (little) buggers left alone in the car from choking themselves when they played with the windows.

its a 1993.was a v8 but now a 200 tdi bobtail.:)

I'm not a mechanic/auto-electrician but have owned 4 RRC's, only one of which (the first) was around the period of your's, since then I've stuck to the earlier 3.5efi models! I've transfered a 'known' good switch to another window & had it not work before now, so if you have any doubts about it at all buy a new one as they are not expensive & are a 'universal' fitment, ie. any of the windows plus the sunroof. Failing that, all I can suggest is the window ECU I mentioned or a bad earth somewhere.
