CHECK THIS: Shafted shaft!

I checked out my front propshaft today after a heavy clunk in the carpark, and excessive lash when shifting. When I saw it I crapped myself - I reckon this was 200yds from destruction...

No point in refurbishing, I think the shaft will be knacked after this.

I've had a lucky escape, I think.

By jove Jock, you were extremely lucky to have spotted that, before it exploded !!!!

I would go with a new propshaft myself, as not only the u/j's but the centre bearing will be fubar'd as well.

This should make ANYONE with D2 get under it and CHECK that front prop out !!

You were spot on, Urban. I was going to check out the whole train anyway because of the noise, but your comment made me check the front shaft straight away. I reckon one more drive would've burst it.

By the way - I'm guessing the discovery2 web site is yours? Nice site geezer. Good effort to actually document and photo all those jobs and then put them up for other people to check.
