Hi all,

so I'm likely to need to replace at least two of the blend motors in my P38 SE in the next few weeks. I hear I'm in for fun and games, though I am ambidextrous and have small fingers which might set me in good stead ;)

Anyone know of a reliable supplier of affordable blend motors? These must be a common replacement part - they seem to dominate most P38 forums, but all the posts relate to technique, not to where to get the parts from in the first place.

To be honest, and others will probably disagree with me here BUT, if you can afford it (£170ish, maybe less now as VAT dropped) then replace all three (that is the dealers price including the 10% Allegiance discount). If two have gone bad then the third is probably not far behind, with the ammount of work to replace just two you might as well do the lot.

I replaced mine on one of the hottest days of the year in 08 and while it took a good 8 hours, it was damn satisfying when I finally restarted and that fecking book icon was nowhere to be seen!

Agree 100% with Wills on this one. Spurious motor sets are not available, only the original Valeo. However it has been said that single motors are available from Peugot dealers as they are fitted to the 406. Try Rimmer Bros., Island 4x4, Paddocks, Famous Four etc. etc.
I fitted a single motor out of a new set a few years back using the guide on www.rangerovers.net-right pain-only to find another one packed up a couple of months later. Decided to remove the dash (Not for the fainthearted) which enabled me to see and get at the beast easily, and replaced the complete set. Took a full weekend and three of us to refit the dash, well worth it as I have not had any problems at all in over 4 years. If you do decide to remove the dash, I have a set of support pins (See Rave) which I can let you borrow, provided you pay the post and return when finished with.
Had a mail from Rimmers stating that they are giving 20% discount until the end of January-but as with everything, try and screw the best deal as you have the cash and they want to sell!

paid 120 for set of three new on ebay spliced the wiring for one and kept the rest in box
