Changing rear NS air spring p38

Hi Guys,

I have bought all the bits:
Spring (Dunlop), Clips and EAS software and lead.

I have had the lead and laptop talking to the EAS system.
Sprayed lots of WD and plusgas on the clips over the last couple of days.

So weather permiting I might give it ago tomorrow afternoon.

I was going to have a go at depressurising the system via the EAS sofware then repressurise. Then if it all works put it on high, support the chassis on axle stands and depressurise and then have a go at removing the air spring.

But having done a search it seems there is advice to simply puncture the old air bag remove and reinstall and then start up again.

Which route is likely to provide the most likely success?

95 car and three air springs changed with a new compressor.

Advice would be greatfully recieved. ALso should the chassis be up or down before I support on axle stands and depressurise.

i did mine rear near side bag on monday my system had very little air in anyway, i took a pipe out of the valve block,jacked it up wheel off,axle stand, then jacked chassis up took pipe out bottom clip out then bastard top clip didnt want to come out so big long screwdriver and hammer few smacks later it was off reverse the dismantle way and put it back together can be done in half hour on your drive, goodluck
 
Sounds like you`ve got the job well planned. For ease of access get the vehicle as high as you safely can. Obviously wobbly stacks of bricks & concrete blocks ain`t safe! So, as you`ve planned, use axle stands of suitable strength under the chassis.(remember it`s a heavy car and you`re likely to be lying under it wielding a heavy hammer). With the wheel off, if you`ve nimble fingers, you may find it un-necessary to remove plastic inner mud guard, but removing this takes a little more time and gives easier access. All you need now is a bit o`sunshine.
