Hi guys ... I have a faulty back door latch (won't lock) so I have bought a new one. I will however need to remove the barrel from the old one and fit it into the new one. Is there a special way to remove and re-fit the barrel to the new latch or is it simple? Checked other threads but could only find how to do it if you've lost your keys and need to drill it out!
Many thanks.

You need to put the key in, turn it to the unlock position then you can get a little pin or small screwdriver into a hole in the side of the lock mech barrel and push in a little spring loaded pin that holds it in place, will probably need drilled out though.

I took mine off for the sake of 4 nuts, I don't think it can be done in situ anyway.

Ye need to remove the lock assembly (box with the handles on) to change yer lock.
Once out ye'll see a wee hole..

Ye need to put yer key in the lock furst and then stick a screwdriver / nail / or summit in the hole, push down and remove the barrel.
when fitting the new lock, make sure ye keep the key in.. don't be tempted to remove it until it's properly secure or the barrel might explode everywhere (or so Ah've bin told!);):D

Hi Buster,

All changed in my lunchbreak ... only thing was the actual pin that locks the barrel in place was missing in the old one and so I can't lock the new one in! ... Although it works perfectly I have to hold the barrel in while I remove my key. Any ideas where I can get a pin or whether you can safely utilise anything else?
Cheers fella,
Andy
