Changed glow plugs , do egr change now got a miss a 2.5 revs and smoke

06 td4. Changed the glow plugs ,,,and fitted one of those egr blank offs from auction site .cleaned
Manifold from grunge and refitted.
Now I have a miss at 2 1/2 revs and blue smoke , seems not notable while driving more sitting .
Also my glow light used to light in the dash for a second or two , I have not seen it lit since changing glow plugs , could the egr removed cause a miss and smoke , should I put my egr back on .
Could I have disturbed anything while doing this .
Also rubber pipe at rear drivers side in engine bay is almost collapsed could this be anything to do with it .
After doing the work it started very smokey from cold I thought this was just clearing the inlet manifold.
Advise welcolm.

Update just put old egr back on and miss is away , running nice and clean with a little whiff of smoke at
3000 rpm when stationary, don't under stand what caused misfire unless I disturbed something .need to wait now until it's cold to see what happens then . Still no glow light in dash .
What's proper name of sensor on air intake in front of dipstick , in case I disturbed it on removal of
Plug and putting back in.
