Central locking question

hi guys new to this is there any one that can help out with this I’m sure it’s simple enough . Basically I need to do the p gasket back of pump housing and whilst I’m at it my water pump gasket. To do this I need alternator off battery disconnected. So I dont no what will happen with battery off will my key loose is code to car. I.e forget it is there a procedure has anyone else had to have alternator off. if so is it just battery off as long as you need then back on.or will it shut my key out any help welcomed thanks.

you can leave alt wired up as long as you insulate the wire at the rear, but in any case it wont effect your key but will the radio if coded

Hi so I can take it off as long as I keep wires away from anything and my key is a fob and it’s coded to car I’ll do it the way you have just suggested makes more sense thanks

yes simple enough just tie it out of the way as long as main power lead connector doesnt touch anything
