central locking ecu

hi all im a noobie to this site
i brought a land rover freelander 1.8 petrol on a 53 plate 2 years ago iv read through the forums and cannot find an answer to a simple question
the door lock and tailgate lock are beginning to fail ie hard to put the key into the lock as the central locking has stopped working altogether. im thinking of replacing all the locks -drivers door ignition- filler cap and tailgate but would i have to change the ecu as iv seen the locks advertised for sale with and without ecu
