CD/Radio problems

Cd radio VUX500150 in a 04 freelander. With some cd, both home made or originals the cd player comes up with error message 4. Tried many burning formats, have run a head cleaner through it. Any ideas?
Plus does a Premium Sport have a multi disc unit if so where the hell is it?
Plus (2) where do I find the radio code?

Not sure if it has a CD changer but if it has it's probably under one of the front seats.

Iirc the sport has a single CD HU and the premium sport has a multi CD HU like the SE.
Sounds like the CD laser isn't reading the discs.
A replacement is going to be easier than repairing it. The code will be in owner's paperwork, on the security card. If no paperwork is available, you'll need to try an LR dealer. Although there's little point, if you need a replacement unit.

Multi head unit? Lable Harmon Kardon on the speakers. This make a difference?

Does the HU look like this, with a split eject/load button?
If so then there's a multi changer built into the HU which takes 6 CDs

On the subject of codes, I've had all three radios out of the Freelanders I own and none of them needed a code input when put back in.

i have a cd changer under the drivers seat, is this standard?

Thanks all makes sense now. Just replaced the laser head andd all working fine. Many thanks to all for the help
