Im trying to find a cat bypass for my 99 1.8 freebie and the only one i can find is for a diesel 97/00. What i want to know is ,does the diesel exhaust have a larger bore than the petrol.Any help would be brill.

Your hippo is an early engine with one lambda sensor so straight swap for the de-cat pipe.

Mainly MG-rover after market outlets that sell them (£30-40)

Keep your CAT on for the MOT, you can buy cat saver stainless steel nuts for whenever the CAT is driven in winter, it just protects the threads from corrosion.

Mike Satur or Brown & Gammons MG would be a good place to start.

Rimmers dont sell them, I phoned up and the guy from the parts desk said, "no sir we dont sell them its against the law"

Yet all petrol cars pre 1990's without injection systems dont have CATS
