Hello!!!

I've just fitted a cat 2 immobiliser to my car.

I've cut 2 circuits, (obviously) the starter which I'm happy with, but the other circuit I'm not so sure about.

The manual says.....circuit has to be live when vehicle is running and cranking, and going on previous installations on my old cars I cut the ignition wire under the dash, but, having re-read the instructions the relay in the immobiliser is only rated at 18amp, and the wire I've put the break in is rather hefty.

Am I asking for trouble???

Steve

surely its just easier then to have a switch from the fuel pump relay like i did on my classic without switchin it on no fuel no go was much easier an cheaper then buyin alarm that u end up losin the immboliser bit u have to stab the dash with an end up cuttin it all out

AH, now that sounds like a plan.

Guess I need to hunt out the fuel pump relay!!

Great idea, thank you :)

I did that on my MR2 with a switch hidden in the boot, (the engine is at the back) It still starts, runs for about 20 seconds then stops and of course won't re-start. I reckon that would fool a lot of people into thinking "Problem" and leave it:D:D:D
