As per title really. I have brought a car (old BMW 325i) that I need collecting from Brighton and delivered to Birmingham one day next week.

Anybody have any ideas?

I drive a company car so unable to fit a tow bar and my 90 is off the road. If nobody can do it for the right money I'll have to hire a transporter but dont really have the time.

Its around 180 miles most companies (who are insured) charge upwards of a pound a mile and you pay the return as well.
I hired a tri-axle trailer for £65 to transport a Range Rover and it ended up costing me more as I had a blow out on one of the wheels.
No spare came with the trailer and had to call out a mobile unit to change the tyre. Cost me another £80.
Still a lot cheaper than the transport companies

Try Shiply, I put details into them when moving the Range Rover and from the original quote it fell considerably the more I waited them out
be forwarned - there are some rogues on Shipley :(.
when I tried to get my disco collected from Mancs to Basingstoke, it was picked up on a trailer behind a transit (overloaded). when the transit broke down, he dumped the disco at a motorway service station and buggered off , leaving me to sort out the mess :(

Really?! What a w*nker! Is there no cover with Shiply when things like this happen?

It was just another option, I decided against using them and did my own thing.
I eventually received quotes from them under what it cost me to hire a trailer.
I was suspicious of these ones

The last recovery guy I used only charged me £80 for a delivery from central London. Just so happened he had a delivery right near where I needed the collection so it was 100% profit for him. Was hoping to find something along those lines!

Most of the guys on there offer a payment upon delivery, which would give me a bit of security. Its only a £500 donor car I want the engine from so not arsed if it gets damaged.
