cant reset height sensor

after fitting a new rear O/S height sensor to 02 l322 petrol.the HDC message keeps coming on the cluster read out. ive had it plugged in and cleared any faults. but it just keeps coming back and when i drive it, It locks the suspension in motorway mode. so i thought about taking the battery lead off for 20 mins hoping this would make the car reset. but not sure if i should take the battery lead off it may loose some thing more.any ideas before i take it to get plugged in by a R R workshop. thanks

If you take battery lead of you must follow the manual or you may fry the sat nav.

dont have sat nav built in i have 10 inch external one. but still not sure weather to take neutral lead off.

Have you reset the Steering Angle Sensor by turning lock to lock and back to centre??

It could be a weak / tired air suspension pump!

pump!! i only changed the back height sensor after it got snaped off. when cutting the bush off.. It has cleared it self after i drove it today.plus i did put the car on high level for a short time. Then it cleared. no message.. so i now think i have a brake in the wire were the conector is. im going to order the fix kit for it. just in case it comes back on after i take it for a bumpy ride tomorrow. see if it comes back.
