buying a series 3 Disco

I currently run a 7 year old s2 disco but I am considering a purchase of a 6 to 12 month old disco 3 - an XS or SE possibly. What is the word on the overall reliability of the new ones - are the high profile internet scare stories to be believed?? :confused:
