I have a P38, it has the rubber bull bars with large Land Rover lamps in the middle that has been fitted at a Land Rover dealer from new. I want to remove this, I wonder if anyone has any advice on how to do this? I have had a quick look at the fittings, will I have to remove the whole bumper? Also does anyone know where I can get hold of a workshop manual?

Thanks.

Easy this one. You should have two large bolts in line with the A frame part of the bars where they fit to the bumper. Remove these then release two clips (one each side) where the main bumper wraps round the side - a little tricky to see but accessable from the wheel arch if you give it full lock each way, and then the whole lot should slide of forwards. Dont forget to disconect fog lamps.

The worst part of the whole job was removing the side supports from the buper as these had rusted solid on mine, so had to be ground of with a disc cutter.

Please note this is from memory, from 3 years ago, if I forgot something - sorry.....

Overall not a tricky job.

Thanx for the help chaps will sort it now i know the whole lots not gonna fall off when i take the two bolts out!! Halfords was my 1st port of call for a manual but the spotty little fella on the desk informed me that neither they nor haynes do a workshop manual for a P38? Rangey Classic, Disco and Freelander but no P38 manual?
