Hello,

I could do with welding a couple of bulkhead repair panels into the corners of my bulkhead but I would like a bit of advice before hand, preferably with pictures if any one has any. I know I need to cut away the outer 'skin' as so to speak but I'm not sure how far to cut in etc. Any photos of the job out there?

Cheers

I had mine done by a mate who does a lot of landy work. He said it was straightforward but i didn't trust myself to do it. From what i remember it's just the front skin you take off as thats all the repair panels cover. I bought my top corners from YRM metal solutions and despite it being middle of the lro show they were more than helpful, talking through any queries and i had them 2 days later. Once i got it back, i applied red oxide primer and a tiny smear of filler to hide the welds and it looked as good as new.
I will try and find the pics but i think they were deleted.

My bulkhead repair pics....
here

Both corners were quite crunchy despite there only being a couple of pinholes in the paint when I bought it! ended up a fairly involved job...

as above.

I have a pair of corner repair panels here for 20 quid plus post.there surplus.pm me for them if you want.could post easy.reckon 25 quid all in delivered or so...

That sounds good. I'm going to assess the overall condition of my bulkhead tomorrow all being well, so I'll let you know. If it's worse than I think, I'll go down that route, if it's nothing major I'll just splice a piece of metal in.

Thanks
