Please can anyone tell me if there is a diagram available that shows all the strengtheners inside a Series 2 bulkhead?

Not sure what you mean by strengthers. The parts manual isn’t very detailed when it comes to bulkheads cos it’s a structural part of the vehicle and not commonly replaced. Where exactly is the problem?

Correct. The only complex part is the door pillars the rest is single skin. Remember there are the mud shields? They just bolt on to the footwells.

I will try and post again, my post have not been displayed, inside the top corners seem to have strengtheners, my bulkhead has new top corners from previous owners but rear of corners inside of cab have corroded and there seems to be strengtheners, when I get a good day I will cut the rust out, I will probably find that it is just original metal that has been plated over as the new top corners have been welded on top of original corners and not pieces in properly

Also, does anyone know of repair panels for rear side of vent panels, I know I can buy full vent sections from yrm and the like but I want to have fresh metal inside too

This is the area I am wanting to know if there is such a repair panel, I have welded in a new A post and started to break away the rust to see how far it goes, before I take out the windscreen and start to cut I want to buy any repair panels available or am I going to have to fabricate them myself?

Hi John, can you have a look at the pics I have put up please, maybe you will have a better idea of what I can buy, cheers Paul

I'm not sure there are any, its mostly single skin with some double sections but I'm not sure there is anything fancy inside.
Hi Rob, please have a look at the pics I have put up, this is the area I am needing repair panel for, cheers Paul

Those areas can be repaired. YRM Solutions sell the ends and door pillars. However if you have rot below that and above the pedals the bulkhead isn’t repairable, especially if it’s rotten in the middle. Your first picture shows what looks like a Defender type spring. Is it a series 2 or a hybrid? I see your in Shetland, whereabouts? Lived there in 1980’s. Bought my first and second series landys in Shetland. I lived at Gott, Tingwall and Stromfirth.

Hi John, it is a 1965 2a on and 1971 RR Classic Chassis, I am looking at buying a replacement bulkhead and eventually an original series Chassis but wanted to try and get her through an mot so I can use her and save for new bulkhead and chassis

Sorry yes, I live in Shetland, it is an amazing place to live, and even better if you have a Land Rover ;)

That’s a big project for sure. Remember to ensure you have the chassis numbers etc and V5. Shetland is great for landys, small single track roads n good scenery.

It is that, I have all paperwork for both vehicles, I was told it has been on this Chassis since the 80's/90's, just looking forward to being able to drive it
