Brother just bought a 2010 Freelander 2

It is a hse sd4, is there anything to look for fault wise?

Had mine for the past 8 months , 2010 sd4 now at 130,000km, no problems to speak of. One of the rear driveshafts has started to weep from the oil seal on the diff (just got new seal from Paddocks to be replaced soon). So apart from the obvious ie, tyres all the same etc etc, they seem to be pretty reliable. Touch wood etc etc.

Does it have a good service history? If not, give it a damn good service.

My experience is the FL2 2.2 diesel is a reliable beast and unless pushed to its limits wrt to speed, towing and off-road, only ‘consumables’, like pads, discs, shocks, etc will need replacing. I stress that is my experience.

Browsing this forum will Identify all the niggly (and scarily expensive) things that can go wrong, but don’t let that put you off.
