Broken down in Cleobury Mortimer, fuel p1ssin everywhere :-(

Hi all
We've bosted down near Cleobury, fuel leaking and dripping into the gutter.
I've had a mooch around and found fuel leaking from a hole in the bottom of the lift pump (just to the left of the priming lever)
Is there supposed to be something in this hole? If not, why have I got fuel dripping out of it. I did. Hanged the leak off pipes between the injectors earlier on cus one of them had perished. I didnt bleed the fuel system afterwards but it had been leaking a little since a few days ago.
Anyone got any ideas, or do I just need a new lift pump?

sounds like the lift pump mate yeah. if some of the internals have perished then it could be pushing diesel out the seals. You gotta replace ur spill off pipes too

have you got AA or RAC cover?
