ok posted before,crank went bought another engine,but it won’t run
Won’t match up to existing Ecu
Now been told I need the Ecu plus key and barrel from donor vehicle
Help
Very very frustrated

Why do you need a key and barrel? You stated in your other thread it starts with easy start. Did you check the regulator o ring as suggested by @Nodge68? And the leak back test? It's almost certainly a fueling issue if it will start with easy start.
 
Who is telling you this crock of ****e.
An engine is an engine. The EDC doesn't know or care what engine is at the end of the wiring or where it came from. You really need to fine someone that knows what they are taking about.
A non start is likely to be the regulator O rings.
It's not the EDC so you won't need the other coded items that go with it.

Sorry mate got to check the regulator ring yet
And I don’t know how to to do a leak back test,if you could let me know that would be good

Will only start with easystart but as soon as it runs out it stops
 
some engines wont run without the corresponding ecu that is exactly the same as some ecu's can be different. in the US here people that sawp engines over always use the ecu with the engine they are installing and they never have probelms.

Why is that? An engine is just hardware; effectively a lump of metal with bits attached. As long the engine being replaced is a direct match to the donor, it should run with the existing electronics.
 
ecu's in vehicles will know if the engine is different as any electronically controlled part will be monitored by the ecu and if there is a new part ie injectors and what have you the ecu see it as a intruder and wont work. each engine has its own injectors and electronics that the ecu knows about, even thought the part looks the same the ecu will know as it has another number to that part.

That’s what I have been told ,but people on this site have different opinions
