Looks interesting.Available from mid April. The price may well be the clincher
But as it is aimed at the Home user as well,it should be competitive with Hawkeye,Nanocom etc:cool:
Just been told £300 on eBay and that's normally overpriced :)

Any one seen heard about this , I cannot get a price as yes its so new!
From what I've read it has a few more functions than say the nano price will dictate here? Enjoy reading verdicts please :D
Lynx Diagnostics - Britpart - The Quality Parts for Land Rovers
Omitec developed T4 according to that info. It looks directly comparable to Faultmate but will not have the direct access option. It's VIN locked like Faultmate and unlike the Nanocom, unless you go for the professional version.
I'm put off by the ****part lable without even seeing the price which I suspect will be no cheaper than Nanocom.

That's a £150 cheaper! Not sure about key fob stuff :confused:and it said somthing about special modes in the mag but not Detailed enough

Well not sure yet d, says it can be unlocked for others home use version thought nano was registered by vin but can be used on others of the same type ?
Re read the Lynx info, single vehicle for DIY multi vehicle for "professional" use presumably with a price to match.
Nanocom is not VIN locked and can be used on any P38 with the same engine type, additional engine types can be added for £45 each.

Not exactly being a good news period for Colin and the others at BBS.

The trouble is that the new kid on the block covers a larger vehicle range so are going to enter the 2nd hand market quite quickly. Assuming a 2nd hand price of around £175, it will cause BBS difficulties.

Apart from ironing out bugs, there's not much more the Nanocom Evo can do - it reads everything that can be read anyway.

I don't really know how the hardware/software in these things work but I suppose expanding the vehicle range that it works on is the best way forward for them.

On the face of it, £300 connecting to a netbook or tablet against £480 for a handheld doesn't look like a difficult choice, particularly with the current problems in Cyprus. Can but hope they will be OK.

Single vehicle home user version. Unlocked for one vehicle only - VIN required. Upgradable for extra vehicles at a later date.

Yes I see it would be crazy if you had to buy the same type Vehicle to do a friend I hoping its a mistake but probably not ! What do you think the special stuff is ?, its a bit stupid telling people that and not saying what it is:mad:

Have to wait and see. Britpart have a pretty poor reputation so support may be another issue.
Nanocom for the P38 is £355 at the current exchange rate, less with a group purchase.

Personally, I would sooner pay another £55 for the non VIN locked Nanocom where I know the support is pretty good.
It will take 12 months to get the bugs out of it, much like the case with Hawkeye.

I agree for the built in screen not needing a laptop that usually dies on you when you need it most its the contender at the moment :)

You may well do. You have experience of RRs and diagnostics.

Buyers in a month's time are likely to have neither and may not even have visited this site. They will have an initial bowel movement when they see how much more these things cost because they are Land Rover specific.

They will then be very price sensitive when their new (second hand) pride and joy looks like it's going to bankrupt them just to get a clue what's wrong.
