Brentacre - Won't cover theft without Class 1 Alarm and Immobiliser

So Brentacre won't cover my son's D90 for theft unless he fits a Class 1 Alarm and Immobiliser. Apparently a decent Tracker doesn't count, it has to be a Thatcham Approved Class 1.

Any recommendations for a Class 1 system that works on a Defender?

He is in discussion with Adrian Flux using the dedicated line given at the start of this forum, we will see if they will give a sensible quote with a Tracker.

He called the number Dan gave and was given a quote of well over £1200 with or without a tracker, by a woman who spent most her time slagging off the competition. She then tried the high pressure sales technique of "cannot guarantee this quote unless you buy now." He is now trying A Plan, cheers gstuart.

Ur so welcome , must admit , I was with Adrian flux and when I bought my D3 I had a quote of nearly £1500 , A plan came in just under £500 which also included extra things like, full recovery, key cover, 25% on value, etc, etc

Have been with A plan for 4 x years and don’t get outrageous renewal quotes each year, have so far been very pleased with them

How old is your son? full time job? What kind of driving record, accidents, tickets, previous claims etc?

also does this help , ref alarms , plus would a tracker bring it down any more , alas don’t know how much it will cost to get the alarm fitted by an approved installer , think they also issue a certificate to produce to Ur ins company

Thanks I looked at that site. This one seems pretty good and fitting should be around £250.
My concern is that they require a volumetric internal feed to the alarm which I can imagine going off all the time in a Defender.

Weirdly none of the companies he has talked to give any reduction if a tracker is fitted.
