Now then I've just had my renewal through fror the AA...................165.00 chuffin' quid.

Apparently Its gone up 'cos I used them twice in the last year, the bastards havent used them for years then 'cos I used them twice they put it up by £55.00.

Going to get some quotes tommorrow. Who do you recommend?

would still reccomend theaa grunter, they are still the best by a mile, just a few little facts about the breakdown industry :

green flag use all private garages, even the greenflag vans and trucks belong to garages

the rac have their own vans but use garages for the trucks

norwich union/direct line/brittania all use only private garages

the aa is still the biggest breakdown company in the uk

they have both vans and trucks dotted all over the country

They were OK both times they came out to me. Once 'cos of a puncture and I didn't have a jack with me, and once when I bust it off roading. But to penalise me just for using them's a bit much, especially as I've been a member for years and only called them out once before this year.

Mornin' Grunt and Slob.
At the end of the day - is it worth £165 to have that piece of mind?
I think yu get wot yu pay for. Just hope yu get a couple of good years.

As an aside, If yu go for some insurance companies, they include breakdown cover. I have used MSM for my GT40 and they include breakdown cover for the UK and foreen parts (europe). mite be worth asking yo insurance company if that is an option?

Howdo Grunt,
I managed to get my quote with AA down to £99 squids by dropping the homestart ( under 1/4 mile from home..sod that, I'll tow the GL with me bimmer..) and by firing at them other quotes from green flag etc. They were very happy to outbid the competition once i gave them the tat about being a long term customer etc...

Hugs,
