I have a land rover already, in fact ive had many over the years including the oldest 107 known to exist which i sold not knowing its provenance.

Cut a long story short i renovated the 107 to a stage that made it worth selling then sold it.

it was only last year after contacting the buyer to see if they had finished the restoration did i learn what i had sold.
Gutted was not a word i would have used but im happy it went to some one who did a first class job on its full restoration :)

My old disco isnt worth restoring now so its gonna get ripped apart and a new body made from scratch .

Im thinking along the lines of some thing wild like this :)

This is a tiny fraction of what i did to it, basically the whole chassis and both axles fully restored all new nuts , bolts and a few other parts from Dunsfold brakes were pattern parts .

I located all origonal front panels ect so it was complete.

I dont like the slab sides on the series ones but had i have known what i had i would have liked it :)

Here are the photos from the guy who bought it off me.

Hes done one hell of a job on it now but considering its the oldest known to exist im not surprised they pulled out all the stops !

The most solid part of the rear cross member was the center bit the rest was rust.

After i had finished with it you couldnt tell it had had a repair, it was one job i was really pleased with.

Cheers.

All that work was done on the yard. Since then ive built a decent sized workshop.

Im considering taking on repair work on others land rovers at some point.

Just a few more jobs to do on the workshop to complete it how i want it and im good to go.
If its worth while doing ill have a shot at it.

I need 3 phase fitting to power the compressor and guillotine, Ive got a manual sheet metal folder ive just renovated.

Im looking to get a Startrite bandsaw and maybe a small lathe at a later date.

That is some good looking work mate can’t wait to seen the landy waiting in the wings.

I wonder if these guys seen this @dieseldog69 & @resto_d1 as some encouragement :) cos I know they have had a long hard slog sometimes and some nice light at the end of the tunnel is always a help:)

J
I had to get the kleenex out after he flashed his 107 at me

I found a spare bucket full of enthusiasm hiding behind the rear quarter panel of a scrap 300Tdi ;). See rusty fred for more info :)

I sold that discovery about five years ago.
I then renovated a 90 defender and sold that :D

Ive had some land rovers go through my hands in my time :D

Most of them ive broke for parts some i regret breaking like a series 2a land rover carawagon complete and origonal and my first land rover a series 2a 109 inch safari with 6 cylinder engine.
What a truck that was !
