Came along to this a little late I fear but here goes!
Bought myself my first ever LR 2 days ago after wanting one for years! Used to work in a company 110 for BAA on the airfield so I knew they were alright!
A quick trip to Essex yesterday brought me this:
Its a V8 Auto SE in Beluga (i think) black.
Stopped in past my friends unit yesterday and took the tint off the front windows (not really my bag!) and got a pair of tyres on the rear axle today too. Total cost of ownership so far (minus the tyres and petrol) was £2 for a set of sidelight bulbs and the entire day with the karcher puzzi extractor carpet cleaner!!
Even gave the bonnet a machine polish yesterday to see how it came up and the combo of Megs 205 and a yellow pad brought up the single stage paint beautifully!!
There is a list of things that need fixing but she was a bargain!!
I have ordered a window channel for the NSF window today (its rusted apart) and a drivers door lock solenoid too.
The cruise control lights up but doesn't engage and the passengers electric seat only tilts and doesn't slide (switch clean maybe?)
Leather needs a re-colour (stuff on order for that!) and she needs some love heaping on her in the outside paint department too.
Worst complaint is a vague and wandery ride but its characterfull I will say that! Off to the mechanics for a poke about the bushes / bearings etc next week, he's an ex-classic owner so knows his way around at least!
Nice to be here guys!!
