Brakes

Just about ready for MOT, Said this a thousand times in the last few weeks but honestly I really am this time

Anyway all brakes are new pipes, calipers, discs pads, ect, They seemed to all bleed through a while ago, and worked fine, but after standing a few weeks I noticed a leak on the passenger side front just needed Nipped up and had to top the fluid up again. . After a couple of test drives they Do work but the pedal is not very strong it has to be pressed quite a way down to stop,
Question is do I just Bleed the side where leak was or do I bleed each corner again ??

Tbh brake fluid is cheap so I would fully bleed all corners again, starting from the brake furthest from the MC and ending on the brake closest.

Thanks, I did do it on sequence last time, cant remember which way it was.

start at that one then do the rest if necessary, sequence doesnt matter

OK Will start there . I am using one of them easy bleed thingy's from Halfords, quite easy to do really even for me

if youve got new calipers and pads watch out for pistons retracting when pedals released they can do so too far till it all beds in giving excess pedal travel

Will Do, Could it just be this causing the brakes to act the way they are doing now ?

Another thing that bothers me whilst were on is the Tracking. Not

when youget your tracking done ensure its done with steering box centered

All track rods ends, drag link, steering bars are new. Tracking never been done yet just nipped everything up, Mot place said they will do tracking for me, but meant to ask before, will it be OK to drive there without it done ? Only a couple of mile away.

Thanks. Getting worried now as it's going to my local Landy Specialist on Monday for Tracking and there going to check it over before Mot. Rather them do it then back street garage that don't know Defender's

Finally had another go at bleeding brakes but no Joy this time .
Used the Easy Bleed the first time a few months back and it worked perfect, pumped the pedal a few times and fluid kept moving in to the bottle Air Free until I could nip the nuts up.
This time its only moving the Fluid when I'm pumping the Pedal, then when I stop on pedal the fluid stops coming through.
What have I done now

, ? its the last thing to get right before MOT in the next couple of days.

Had tracking done today and The bloke at Garage says something about my brakes are only connecting on the front and that I need the rear drum brakes adjusting, there is 2 on each side on mine. had a quick read and am I right and thinking that you adjust them right up until wheel locks and stops turning, Then adjust a couple of clicks back ??
Or is that wrong ?
I know I could get them to do it but they want £60 to adjust and bleed brakes..
He says once These are sorted should fly through MOT as everything else seems in order.
Anyone help me to get this sorted, cant wait to get this thing out on the road.

yes thats correct lock the drum the wind back till it turns free same for both adjusters

Thanks James, so will a wheel lock by turning just one adjuster then free off and do same Again with other adjuster, so having to do it 4 times twice on each wheel.
Or use both adjusters at once to lock wheel ?
Please forgive me if that sounds daft.

2 adjusters for each wheel and it doesnt have to lock solid just so you know shoes on the drum but yes
